Contrail Segmentation
This is a project I undertook during my time at the University of North Texas. Contrails are known to be one of aviations biggest contributors to global warming.
The good new is that they are also a relatively easy to prevent with the right technology.

Background:
Contrail preventions can be one of the easiest wins for humanity
in the front of global warming. If we prevent contrail creation, we can reduce 57% of aviation's affect on global warming. To prevent contrail creation
we must first understand what they are and more importantly how to detect where they will form. I build a deep learning model that helps with this endevor
by locating these contrails. The technical terminology here is I build a segmentation model that can localize contrails from false color infrared images.
I broke what all of that means and how it helps save the earth down in the presentation below :)
